Cover...

 

Voilà, le premier jet du second volet de Aimer l'art puis s'ennuyer est terminé.

Petite pause écossaise avec mon amie Hèlène avant de relire, relire, corriger, pester, aimer, espérer, réécrire...

Mais, pendant ce temps de l'écriture, j'ai eu le plaisir de collaborer avec Daniel Déjean à la création de la nouvelle couverture du Aimer l'art puis s'ennuyer original ainsi qu'à celle du second volet (dont le titre n'est pas encore tout à fait arrêté).

Des échanges passionnants, drôles et francs qui ont abouti à l'illustration que je vous présente ici.

Daniel a eu une lecture très fine et en même temps décalée du roman.

Peut-être qu'un océan atlantique entre nous a-t-il apportés cette distance qui était nécessaire à la réinvention du visuel.

Pas facile de se séparer de l'Alka Seltzer de Lichtenstein...

En tout cas, je l'aime cette nouvelle couverture, dans sa dynamique, son évocation directe et mystèrieuse au roman, sa manière éclatante et précise de nous attirer (si ce n'est dans la piscine) vers ce « grand vase de fleurs » brisé, allusion habile (et pas innocente) au monde troublant de l'art contemporain tel qu'il apparaît dans le récit.

Voilà !

La réédition est prévue pour le 25 mars. D'abord disponibles chez BoD, le livre et son nouveau costume le seront sur les autres plateformes à la fin du mois.

Quant à la suite... La sortie est prévue fin Avril... Avec une superbe couverture créée par Daniel Déjean . Daniel est peintre et cartoonist. Il vit à Wellfleet, Massachusetts.

That's it, the first draft of the second part of Aimer l'art puis s'ennuyer is over. 

Little Scottish break with my friend Hèlène before rereading, rereading, correcting, complaining, loving, hoping, rewriting... 

But, during this time of writing, I had the pleasure of collaborating with Daniel Déjean on the creation of the new cover of the original as well as that of the second part (whose title not quite finished yet). 

Exciting, funny and frank exchanges which led to the illustration that I present to you here. Daniel had a very sharp, and at the same time, offbeat reading of the novel. Perhaps an Atlantic Ocean between us brought this distance that was necessary for the reinvention of the visual. It's not easy to part with Lichtenstein's Alka Seltzer...
In any case, I like this new cover, in its dynamics, its direct and mysterious evocation of the novel, its dazzling and precise way of attracting us (if not in the swimming pool) towards this "large vase of flowers". broken, clever (and not innocent) allusion to the disturbing world of contemporary art as it appears in the story. 

There ! The republishing is scheduled for March 25. First available at BoD, the book and its new "suit" will be available on other platforms at the end of the month. 

As for the sequel... The release is scheduled for the end of April... With a superb cover created by Daniel Déjean. Daniel is a painter and cartoonist. He lives in Wellfleet, Massachusetts.
