Dickens, Stevenson, Vian... J'écoutais Bach, les Beatles, Dutronc,
Gershwin, Le Forestier, Brel, Rameau, Duke Ellington...
rend bien.
A part ça, je voyage beaucoup, enfin
je voyageais beaucoup avant mars 2020...
Alors j'ai repris l'écriture...
Je m'appelle Brigit Bosch
Biography
When my father refused the offer to go and work on the huge and modernist construction site of Brasilia in 1956, my future had just been outlined. I therefore see the light of day at the end of 1957 in France, in the north.
I have always liked artists. Starting with my grandfather Marcel, of whom I kept one of the boxes of oil colors for years before losing it during a removal. He was a passionate craftsman, a silent painter. I was eight when he left us. It was a few years later I discovered his paintings on panel as well as his painted marble and wood that he created like no one else ... I keep in mind a winter landscape that a white chapel inhabited between two bare plane trees. . He would certainly have liked to know that I would become an art historian.
Long before university I was ... a director, conductor, musician (I played organ between twelve and nineteen and my teacher was called Louisette), sometimes a writer (yes already a little bit attracted by words ...), muse of a great painter and singer ...
In short, an almost natural inclination to imagine an artist's life. I read Hugo, Nabokov, Tolkein, Dickens, Stevenson, Vian ... I listened to Bach, the Beatles, Dutronc, Gershwin, Le Forestier, Brel, Rameau, Duke Ellington ... I discovered Giotto, Velasquez, Rubens or Rodin in my parents' Time Life Arts collection ... I was leafing through Boussinot's two-volume cinema encyclopedia and watching Zorba the Greek, my first TV movie that impressed me so much.
1968, I entered to the high school (for young girls in Arras, it is now called Lycée Gambetta) and graduated in 1975 with my literary baccalaureate. A rather studious schooling but without exaggeration which left me the time to regularly attend the cine-club, to make small films in Super8 with my sweatheart Benoît, to go sometimes to Paris with friends of my older brother and to survey the Orangerie, the Museum of modern art or the Gibert Bookstore, constructing fancyful life projects in nature or writing improbable film scripts with my friend Minouche
...
Then stretch the exciting and disconcerting years of university, knowledge, museums, galleries, artists, in real life; then the unforgettable encounters, the strong friendships, the demonstrations, the new jobs, the trips (to Ireland, the long stay in Bologna, Italy), American literature, my first exhibition catalogs, the important decisions. I got a master's degree in art history and a bachelor's degree in Italian.
After ... After, we grow up.
My passion for art and artists becomes my job.
I run a private modern art foundation, I am the editorial manager of an artist's book publisher, artistic director of a contemporary art center, director of a higher art school ; I participate in the editorial adventure of a theater company, I create and I develop a publishing structure of artists's works and artistic events for which a superb team of volunteers and creators has been engaged for nine years.
Thirty-five amazing years with artists, authors, collectors, enthusiasts, the public, professionals, all those who firmly believe that art is essential to our lives ...
I started writing Aimer l'art then s'ennuyer ... in 2019, a few months before the “official” end of my professional activities. I finished it at the end of 2020.
In the meantime, I left the surroundings of Toulouse where my husband and I had been living for almost thirty years. Today we live very close to the Atlantic Ocean in Vendée.
We love "him" very much and he gives us back.
Aside from that, I travel a lot, well, I was traveling before March 2020 ...
So I resumed writing ...
My name is Brigit Bosch.
